IntefleCS® Health Watch has been designed for the early detection and effective management of an epidemic or pandemic outbreak of infectious disease. The solution steers consumers and clinicians successfully through the complex healthcare delivery process to ensure that patients are referred to the most appropriate level of care.

Through a series of concise and comprehensive algorithms, the web-based application allows the clinician to quickly determine the potential start of an infectious disease and direct the patient to take the most appropriate action. This solution will ensure suitable access to health resources for both the patient and health worker at the time of an epidemic, such as Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) or Avian Influenza outbreaks, to enable:

  • Strengthened early detection and identification of when and where a disease outbreak occurs;
  • The containment of an outbreak–geographical spread of infectious disease;
  • Real-time reporting and analysis of symptoms indicating likely disease outbreak;
  • Broad access via multimedia channels to support a coordinated regional, national and international approach (depending on stakeholder objectives) via web, telephony (call centre based), DiTV and 3G mobile devices;
  • Flexible system set-up to meet the varying needs of stakeholders, and allows for system customisation depending on the severity of an outbreak.
